More and more injection moulding companies are facing the challenge that the ratio between the large installation dimensions of their moulds does not match the small injection volumes of the cavities. In these cases, the user has to resort to a large injection moulding machine with an oversized injection unit. Thermally damaged plastic and inaccurate control of the non-return valve are frequent results.

Groche Technik has developed the GTM unit for these applications. With the GTM unit, the required injection volume is plasticised in an injection chamber with a reduced cross-section and injected using a specially developed piston screwtip. This allows the volume to be reduced by approx. 30%.

In order to achieve an even shorter residence time, Groche Technik can carry out geometry modifications for the barrel and screw. Depending on the type and application, the plastic volume in the barrel can be reduced by up to 50%.

A reduction in injection force is required before the GTM unit is commissioned.

Volume reduction of approx. 30% possible
Mass cushion is formed in the injection chamber
Reduction in residence time
Lower thermal load on the material
Compatible with almost any injection moulding machine
Usually no need to use microgranulate
